MARCH INTO MERIVALE

It’s on again! Whatever your opinion is of the Merivale circus train, you have to hand it to Justin Hemmes and his team for keep Sydney on its toes and constantly creating new opportunities and exciting events for us to either attend or critic from a distance ;) Merivale have created a series of events 21 Feb – 15 April 2011 to cover every taste and demographic you could hope for.

It begins with the LAUNCH PARTY on Thursday 24 February from 6pm – 8pm, which you can purchase tickets for $20pp which includes 6 small meals + 3 drink tastings, not bad value. The promise “meander through Ash Street laneway, sipping and nibbling your way up to The Ivy Room, your gourmet destination for the evening. All of our talented head chefs (including est.'s Peter Doyle, Lauren Murdoch from the newly opened Felix and the legendary Dan Hong of recent Iron Chef fame) will be waiting to meet you on the night. So come along and sample some Merivale morsels”

Some other options that have caught my eye include: TIMEOUT TASTE TEST $70pp 5 courses + glass of champagne presenting five apprentice chefs first meals to market, guest vote for meal of the night winner published in Time Out. FOODIE FILM NIGHTS $39pp film, tapas and a glass of wine or beer, closing Ash St Laneway and creating a cinema featuring films like Chocolat, Julie & Julia and more. CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY LUNCH $75pp including cocktail on arrival at Lotus, apparently transforming the entire restaurant into a Willy Wonka Style arena!
It looks amazing - for more information visit the website and run through the various 30+ events on offer http://www.marchintomerivale.com
