Food Review: Fat Noodle at the Star Casino, Pyrmont
So it’s been a while since we have blogged, our babies
have taken over our world but we are back!!!
Today we decided to visit Fat Noodle, the younger sister restaurant to Celebrity Chef Luke Nguyen who also owns Red Lantern www.redlantern.com.au (amazing).
Now, eating inside a Casino is always questionable,
however I have to stay that I was far more focused on the food than the
flashing / beeping lights trying to entice me to drop a few fine pennies in
those sneaky poker machines.
Fat Noodle is located in the heart of the pokies area of
the casino, but it is beautifully styled and the open kitchen theatre is
entertaining enough to distract you from the fact you are sitting inside the
Casino.
After much deliberation, I ordered the Mee Goreng
smothered in delicious Sambal – it was divine & mouth-watering. My guests
enjoyed the Seafood Laksa, which looked more like a massive bowl of curry with
noodles rather than your usual watery Laksa but I was told it was “amazing”. My
second guest ordered the Angus Beef noodles and he stated that the beef itself
was tender and fresh.
There are some interesting reviews about Fat Noodle - we
gave it a thumbs up! The prize was reasonable at $19 a bowl but the servings
were large and we left feeling full and satisfied. I’m dying to go back to try
the Crispy Barramundi and the Sugar Cane Prawns.
Highly recommended
